DCS students worked hard to practice to present holiday songs and plays for their families.  A great presentation!  Thanks to staff for all their hard work and for Bruce Simpson and Volkert Volkersz for the guitar music!

The week before Thanksgiving Break brought Troy Wunderle’ Big Top Adventures  back to DCS for a Circus Residency.  He worked his magic with our students and they put on a tremendous performance for families and community members.  Thanks so much to the Dublin Community Foundation, DCS’ PTO, and Arts Enrichment for their support!

Halloween is always a fun and festive event at DCS.  This year proved to be no different, only better!  The annual hike up the hill to the center of town was good exercise.  We were met by Dublin’s own Paws Patrol!  Students enjoyed the costumes of the town staff as well as the candy handed out by Yankee Magazine.

Wednesday was damp, but not rainy enough to stop DCS’ students from walking to school!  Students were dropped at the Dublin General Store, crossed busy Route 101 with the help of the Dublin Police, and walked the half a mile to school.  This is a great way to start our day!

On Sunday, September 24th at 8am, 7 current DCS students and 3 former DCS students gathered in Keene to run the final leg of the DeMar marathon.  These students logged 25 miles over the summer and completed the last 1.2 miles together with other children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 from many area schools. The Keene Rotary coordinates this event which includes a half and full marathon for adult runners.

It has been a wild month filled with caterpillars, chrysalises, and butterflies!  We collected a whopping 36 monarch caterpillars, fed them milkweed, watched them grow,  finally crawl into the classic J formation and transform into chrysalises.
